Dr Alexandra Botha attained her Medical Degree from the University of the Free State and went into private practice as a general practitioner. During this time, she realised her passion for plastic and reconstructive surgery and pursued her dream of qualifying in this specialised medical field at the University of the Witwatersrand. Thereafter, she received her Fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from the College of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of South Africa. After this, Dr Botha obtained her Master’s degree (MMED) in this field. Her Master's research was entitled "Hand Surgery: Wide Awake Local Anaesthesia with No Tourniquet Performed with Bupivacaine", which won an award from the Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of South Africa (APRASSA). She is also a member of the Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons of Southern Africa (APRASSA).  

Dr Botha enjoys improving her patient’s quality of life through cosmetic and reconstructive surgery and non-surgical procedures. She also has a special interest in burns treatment and hand surgery.

Dr Botha is happily married with two wonderful children. In her spare time, she enjoys relaxing outdoors and taking in the beautiful scenes that nature has to offer.
